RADIUS Authentication Is Now Live on ISN Free WiFi

27 August 2026

Advanced: RADIUS authentication is now live on ISN Free WiFi.

RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) is the protocol enterprise networks use to centralize who gets onto a network, and how. Instead of managing WiFi passwords one router at a time, RADIUS lets a business plug into an existing identity system, Active Directory, LDAP, or a RADIUS server already running on their network, and have every access point check against it.

Who actually uses this? Universities, hospitals, corporate campuses, ISPs, and managed service providers running multi-site deployments. Anywhere there's already a centralized user directory and IT staff who manage it daily. It is not something a small guesthouse or a single café needs.

A clear warning for anyone reading this: if you don't already know what a RADIUS server is, or don't have one running, don't turn this on. It sits underneath how your network authenticates devices, and a misconfigured setup can lock out guests, break your existing hotspot flow, or leave access checks failing silently. This is a professional-grade tool for network admins and IT teams who already understand their infrastructure, not a toggle to experiment with.

We built it because our enterprise customers asked for it specifically. Full documentation here for anyone evaluating it: Networking
